NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville police are investigating a suspicious house fire in the Rivergate area Thursday morning.
Police said an officer was driving on Gallatin Road at about 1 a.m. when he saw smoke coming from a home on Welworth Drive. As he pulled up to the home, he saw four people running away from the home.
The house went up in flames so quickly that by the time crews arrived, it was a total loss.
The home was vacant and currently up for sale.
