NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Thousands of unemployed Tennesseans won't be getting their unemployment checks on time this week.
According to the Tennessee Department of Labor, about 40,000 checks will be delayed because of flooding at the Tennessee Tower. The checks are in good condition, but are caught in an envelope-shipping machine, which is expected to be fixed by Friday. Vocational rehabilitation vendor payments are also to be delayed. Vo Rehab helps to find employments to qualified disabled individuals in Tennessee.
The checks will be mailed Friday to claimants that certified last Monday.
