Bonnaroo Death Blamed On Heat
Extreme heat claimed the life of a concert-goer at Bonnaroo
Sunday morning, as the annual four-day music festival neared its close, officials said.According to Frank Watkins, a captain for the Coffee County Sheriff's Department, the 29-year-old man collapsed early Sunday morning in front of medical staff at a medical tent on the festival grounds.Authorities haven't identified the man, but Watkins said the man's core temperature spiked at 108 degrees. There was no immediate sign of trauma or foul play, Watkins said. A toxicology screen, to be performed as part of an autopsy in Nashville, will give investigators a better idea whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the man's death. The toxicology screen will take several weeks.
