Sewage Spill in Stones River

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Swimmers are being advised to stay out of a section of Stones River near Bridge Avenue.Sewage overflowed from a manhole along the west fork of the river on Sunday and killed some fish.Officials said some pumps malfunctioned and caused the spill. They don't know yet why the pumps weren't working properly or why the alarms didn't sound like they were supposed when there's a problem with the pumps.That stretch of the river that was affected runs along a greenway, but officials said the greenway is safe from pollution.
