Sheriff of 30 years Defeated!
Sheriff Truman Jones, who had held the office of Rutherford County sheriff since 1983, was defeated Thursday night by Deputy Robert Arnold.Arnold received 15,241 votes while Jones received 12,544.The Rutherford County Sheriff's office had attacked Arnold earlier in the week for a flyer he distributed that showed Jones wearing a lie detector.
