MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff's office turned over 2,000-year-old human remains to state archaeologists Tuesday.
According to investigators, the skull and bones of at least five people will be analyzed by state experts.Officials believe the remains are Native American, and they hope a local tribe will come forward to claim the bones and rebury them.An amateur spelunker found the skull a year ago, and a Rutherford County detective found the other bones.
