WGNS Powers Up

WGNS has increased the power of FM 100.5 by 300-percent. WGNS’ Bart Walker stated, “The increase was approved by the FCC several months ago, we just had to wait for better weather to actually climb the tower.” A total of three engineers were on the 325-foot self supporting tower Monday.  The wiring and antenna swap went smoothly, despite the thermometer reaching a 100-degree heat index that afternoon. Walker further stated, “The increase will enable our listeners to hear us further and clearer 24-hours per day on 100.5.” The power output of FM 101.9 and AM 1450 will remain unchanged.
WGNS first came on the air in 1947. Over the years we have concentrated on local news, weather, and sports
